Kyle Smith - President
Kyle has over seven years of experience managing multi-million dollar projects and is certified in Project Management (PMP). In addition to his degree from Texas Tech University in Management Information Systems and General Business he has an extensive background in sales, finance, marketing, and his experience in information technology is a key complement for the company's use of innovative technology to design cost-efficient, state of the art golf courses.
As Modern Golf Course Design’s President, Kyle is involved in the sales process, contract submission and administration, project management, construction bidding and observation as well as managing the company’s financials, marketing and technology.
Trey Kemp - Golf Course Architect
Prior to becoming a member of the design team at Modern G.C.D., Trey worked as a Design Associate at Jacobson Golf Course Design, Inc. in Chicago, IL, where he was involved in the design process for over 20 golf courses. Before employment at Jacobson he attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture. While attending U.T. at Arlington Trey worked on the golf course maintenance crew at Dallas National Golf Club. Trey has also worked as the Assistant Golf Professional at Onion Creek Club and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Planning from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. These experiences were collectively instrumental in developing Trey’s comprehensive understanding of golf course design and facility operations.
As the Golf Course Architect for Modern Golf Course Design, Trey is involved in all phases of the design process. His responsibilities include the production of preliminary routing studies, site master planning, the production of plan documents for the construction process, assisting with the development of golf course specifications, and the observation of the construction process for both new course designs and the renovation of existing courses. Trey also uses his artistic and computer graphic skills to assist clients with visualizing proposed designs.
